Tough loss may cost Cats league title.

The Wildcats suffered a hard loss this past weekend against rival St. Johns that may cost them a share of the league title. Holding a 2 point lead, the Cats will need help from either Bowling Green or Findlay to prevent St. Francis from leap frogging them during this last weekend of regular season play. Northview ends the regular season with a 16-7-3 overall record and 6-2 in league play. The 12 league points insures the Cats of at least a 2nd place finish and either the #1 or #2 seed for next weekends red divisions league playoff. Northview will face the Findlay vs B.G winner at Tam-o-Shanter next Saturday at 7 if they finish first or the #3 St. Johns Titans at 9 depending on the results of this weekends games.

This past Saturday the Cats suffered a 4 to 3 loss. St. Johns got on the board early in the 1st period before the Cats responded with a pair of goals to close out the opening period. Nolan Culver opened the scoring for the Cats and Drew Crandall hit on the power-play to give the Cats the lead. The game would remain that way until late in the 2nd period. Then for a 7 minute stretch, from the last minute of the 2nd till 6 minutes into the 3rd, the Cats lost their composer. That along with some questionable calls led to 5 minutes of Power-play time for the Titans including 2 full length 5 on 3 opportunities. To the Titans credit they cashed in for 3 power-play goals and took a commanding 4 to 2 lead. Senior Aaron Booth tapped home a pass from Culver to give the Cats a spark to close to within a goal, but a last ditch effort was not to be and St. Johns skated away with the win 4 to 3.
