Senior Graham Kelsey lets play do the talking

by Coach Elliott on February 12, 2011

Senior Graham Kelsey epitomizes every positive quality you could look for in a hockey player, a leader and a role model for his school.  He is loyal, consistent, trustworthy and Team Oriented. As his coach Mike Jones recently stated “If my new born son grows up to be like Graham Kelsey I will be one proud parent!” Those qualities will make him successful in anything he chooses to do in life. Luckily for the Northview  Graham chose to be a Wildcat.

Graham came to the Cats hockey team at the start of his sophomore season. His steady play along the blue line helped with the loss of senior standouts Tyler Puhl and Eammon Reynolds off the 2008 Wildcats. He scored his 1st career goal that season along with 10 points, but more importantly helped to shut down the opposing teams top players as 1 of the steadiest defensemen in the league. Last year Graham chipped in with 13 points and helped guide the Cats to the state-finals where they eventually lost 4 to 1. This season Graham has worn a Captains letter while continuing his rock solid play and anchoring the power-play. His 15 assist lead the Cats and have put them into position for a run once again at a berth in the state frozen four.

From the coaching staff we would like to say thank you! Your positive energy and love for the game have made it a joy to come coach every day. Good luck with the rest of your senior season and congratulations on representing Northview High School and the Wildcat Hockey Team so well.
