by Coach Elliott on December 16, 2019

The Northview Wildcats moved to 6-2 overall and 3-0 in the league with 2 big wins this past weekend at Tam-o-Shanter.

On Friday evening the Cats welcomed in a young Bowling Green team back after a 1 year hiatus for their 1st league game of the 2019-20 season. Northview overwhelmed the young Bobcats from the onset with 3 goals in the 1st 3 minutes of the game. Senior Seth Orozco kicked it off with his 1st of the season on the Power play.

Griffin Muir and Braiden Otersen pushed it to 3-0 before BG got on the board. Freshman Landon Elliott Collected his career 1st to make it a 3 goal game again as the 1st period came to an end. Senior Jimmy Roberts would add a Hat Trick and Junior David Crandall was all over the ice and the scoresheet. His 2 goals and 6 assist made for an 8 point night. Junior Dougie Carter added a goal and 4 assist and Seniors Spencer Atkins and Jeffrey Wood also scored. Muir would add a second of the night for the final margin.

Saturday night the Cats took on the Findlay Trojans. Findlay took a 1-0 lead after 1 even though the Cats held a 10-4 shot advantage. Roberts kept his early season goal barrage going scoring off a pretty feed off a rush from David Crandall to tie it at 1 before Crandall would give the Cats their 1st lead less than 3 minutes later. With the Cats playing without 2 key players in Senior Justin Beaverson and Junior Dougie Carter the Trojan found the equalizer at the 13:48 mark of the 3rd period.

It would remain that way till Senior Spencer Atkins scored a Power Play with just under 3 minutes left for a 3-2 lead. junior Goalie Tyler Clem would make iit stand up as he capped off a strong night with 9 3rd period saves to secure the win.
