The Northview Wildcats will kick off the 2021-22 season and 47 season of Northview Wildcat hockey tonight at Tam-o-Shanter vs Cincinnati Moeller. Game time for the Varsity is set for 9:00 PM with the JV squads battling at 9:30.
After an up and down scrimmage schedule that saw the Cats win a pair of games and lose a close 2-1 game to St. Charles, Northview will have to show steady improvement throughout the season to achieve their annual goals within a tough NHC Red division and across the State.
Like every new season the Cats will look to a new group of leaders on and off the ice as graduation always leaves holes to fill and this year is no different. Senior Captain Mikey Burton Along with Alternates Noah Chevalier and Tucker Ludwig will lead a determined senior group that includes Hayden Symbolik, Tyler Shoffer, Brock Williamson, Josh Sprauer, Max Faulkner, Greg Vavrinek and Brenden Shadle as the Cats look to replace a strong senior group from 2021.
Junior goaltender Austin Nowak will be counted on as a backbone to a strong Defense that includes Standouts Riley Ames and Landon Elliott. 4 skilled Juniors up front will be looked upon to provide the scoring punch as 2 time league nominee Benny Seals, along with CJ Lehman, Mason Crandell and Tryston Harrell look to raise their games. Juniors Mason Hacker and Aiden Carter and Sophomore Liam Diesing will round out the opening night roster and showed strong promise all preseason long in a supportive role!
The Cats will aslo kick off the league schedule tomoorrow evening as they welcome the Findlay Trojans into Tamo- JV will start at 5:30 with the Varsity to follow on a double header on Rink 1 @ 7:00.
