The Wildcats clinched a 2nd place finish in the Northwest Hockey Conference with a impressive 9-0 shutout win over Findlay. The 2 teams came in tied for 2nd place with identical 6-3 league records in the final weekend of league play. Northview defeated Findlay 5-4 in overtime in the only other meeting of the season down in Findlay.

Freshman George Wilkinson scored the only goal of the first period as his shot deflected out front of the Findlay goal and found its way past Trojan goalie Sean Brown for a 1-0 lead after 1 period of play.

Northview had perhaps their best period of play of the season in the second period scoring 6 times. Matt Cook got things going as he picked the pocket of a Findlay defensman to make the score 2-0 just 8 seconds into the period. The Cats would score 3 power play goals in a span of 1:20 to increase the lead to 5-0. Brent Bain, Cook and Brandon Snead all found the back of the net for Northview. Bain and Snead would score a second time each to increase the lead to 7-0 at the end of the 2nd period.

Tyler Cook and Christian Simon would cap of the night with a goal each in the third for the final scoring. Carter Bourland played a very strong game picking up 4 assist, and Craig Trego stopped all 23 shots he faced for his 3rd shutout in league play.

Northview improved its overall record to 23-9-1 while finishing league play at 7-3. They will kick of state playoffs Wednesday with a 5:00 game against Start at Tam-O
