The Wildcats traveled to Findlay this past Friday and came away with a much needed win 7-4 over the Trojans. The win moves the Cats league record to 3-1 and 8-6-3 Overall.
Dalton Carter opened the scoring for the Cats as his shot from the side of the net found an opening and a 1-0 lead. Findlay would respond with 2 goals in the opening period to take a 2-1 lead into intermission.
Northview would outscore the Trojans 3 -1 in the 2nd period to regain a 4-3 lead heading to the 3rd. Zach Felser scored a pair of goals and Nolan Culver added one in the middle frame.
The Cats would score on the Powerplay early in the third as Ryan LaPlante scored for a 5-3 lead. Findlay pulled the goalie late in the game and the Cats hit 2 open net goals for the final 7-4. LaPlant’s second goal and Mark Hall finished off the scoring for the Cats.
Matt Stevenson made 16 saves and rebounded after a shaky first goal for a solid performance and the win.
