The Wildcats kept the late season surge for a league title going with a 5 to 2 win over Southview this past Saturday. The win also helped the Cats claim the Mayors cup as winner of the season series between the Sylvania schools, Northview had won an earlier league game 3-2 back in December.

The Cats would jump out to an early lead on a goal by Anthony Holley. After delivering a big hit on the forecheck, Anthony was rewarded on the turnover deep in the Cougars end and capitalized for the Cats.

Southview would score the next 2 goals to take a 2-1 lead mid-way through the second period. Nolan Culver took over the game at that moment. His hat trick coupled with a Kyle Hymore goal would give the Cats 4 unanswered goals in the win.

The defense played an inspired game with 2 teammates out of the lineup. Tyler Harding, Jordan Jones, Graham Kelsey, Brent Easton and Dalton Carter all stepped up their games to help goalie Austin Gryca earn the victory.
