The Wildcats improved to 8-0 overall and 2-0 in the NHC with a 5-0 decision over the St. Johns Jesuit Titans. The cats jumped out to an early lead on a goal by Alden Hirschfeld. He was able to gather a loose puck from behind the net and Beat Goalie John Unger with a wrap around goal to give Northview a 1-0 lead after 1 period of play. A tense 2nd period saw the best and worst from the Cats. Another goal from Hirschfeld on a pass from Erik Lavoy increased the lead to 2-0. Matt Cook followed with a goal of his own before Lavoys short handed beauty gave the cats a 4-0 lead. The Wildcats would try to self-destruct however with a slew of penalties near the end of the second period. With the 4-0 lead Northview would start the 3rd period down 5 on 3 for nearly 2 minutes. Great penalty killing from Nic Saenz, Hirschfeld, Lavoy, Cook and the defensive pairing of Tyler Puhl and Eamonn Reynolds would keep St. Johns off the board. Lavoy would add his second of the game on a face-off to provide the final margin. Bobby McElheny was again solid in nets for Northview as he recorded his 2nd shutout of the year. He has now given up just 3 goals in his 4 starts. Next week the cats will play in the Tam-o-Shanter holiday tournament with a game on Friday, 2 Saturday and a possible Championship game Sunday.
