String of Good Games Readies Cats for Stretch run and Senior Night!

by Coach Elliott on February 22, 2017

The Northview Wildcats come into the upcoming weekend with 3 league games in three nights starting with a rare Thursday night affair with St. Johns. A friday night game in Bowling Green and then Senior night back at Tamoshanter for Saturday evening against Findlay at 7.

Before suffering a set back this past Friday versus St. Francis the Cats had been playing their best hockey of the season. After starting the season at 3-8-1 the Cats have won 5 of their past 8 games which included making the Championship game over in Meadville.

It has been a total team effort as goaltending has improved along with good team defense and timely scoring. Senior Johny Rady has picked up 2 shutouts during the stretch and fellow senior Brad Crandall was named Northview Athlete of the week, BCSN Player of the week and named to the all-tournament team in Meadville along with Rady and Sophomore Trevor Klee. The Senior Class has been contributing off the ice as well as team unity has become a strength and helped provide stability both in the locker room and on the ice.

With 4 games left in the league schedule Northview still holds an outside shot of a share of the title.

Northview will welcome youth hockey players to Tamo this weekend during senior night with youth appreciation night. Free admission for all youth player wearing their jerseys and locker room tours! Please come out and support your Wildcats and the Seniors!!
