Thrilling overtime victory “POWERS” Cats to 3-1

The Wildcats visited the House of Pain Saturday night for a meeting with the Trojans in an important league battle. The Cats scored 5 power play goals in a thrilling 5-4 overtime victory to remain in the hunt for a league title. The victory moved the Cats overall record to 17-4 and 3-1 in league play.

Findlay would strike for 2 first period goals as Player of the year candidate Jarrod Hartman had a goal and an assist, and goalie Kyle Brown stiffled many Cat scoring opportunities. The Cats would rebound in the second for three unanswered goals. Carter Bourland got the Cats on board 1st and Ian Kelsey and Brent Bain also scored to give the Cats a 3-2 lead. Hartman would answer to even the game at 3 at the end of 2 periods of play. Hartman would complete his hat trick just 12 seconds into the third period. His knuckling shot from outside the blue line dove under the cross bar for a 4-3 Findlay lead. However Brent Bain would not be outdone. He not only scored the game tying goal in the third, but completed a hat trick of his own for the game winner in overtime. Final score northview-5 Findlay-4

The Cats will hit the road to play Orchard Lake St. Mary Wed. before heading to Meadville for the Bulldog MLK tourney next weekend.
