Out of the shadows and into the spotlight

by Coach Elliott on February 15, 2008

Brandon Snead has always lived in a hockey family. Learning the game from his older brother Adam has been a lot of fun. However living up to the expectation have not been easy. Brandon has always done well and played on very competitive programs, but this year Brandon has stepped out of the shadows and into the spotlight as a leader for the Cats.

Northview has had an incredible season to date, and Brandon has had as much to do with it as anyone. From the minute last season ended Brandon was committed to helping his team win. His play on the ice has always helped his team, but its been his commitment off the ice that has been the biggest difference. Brandon has put the team first and his personal accolades second. The biggest moment of his season came in the Padua Holiday Tourney. After receiving the Tournament MVP award Brandon Stood in front of his team and gave it back to them, “we are all the MVP’s” he proclaimed. Other moments stand out as well. In previous years when the team got down so would Brandon. Not this year. Not only has he talked the talked but he has walked the walk. His 7 game winning goals lead the team.

Brandon’s biggest success story has occurred away from the rink. Brandon used to put hockey first and school second. Now he is driven in both areas. His 60 point season is impressive, but his 3.6 grade point average is more impressive. In a day and age when everyone thinks they are going pro Sneader has a backup plan. Maybe all that schooling has helped him figure out the odds! Whatever route life takes you we know you will be successful.

Congratulations Brandon on a great season and a great career! Good luck in the State Playoffs!
