Nick Foti is steady on the ice and a force off of it

by Coach Elliott on January 18, 2012

Nick Foti has been with the Wildcats hockey program from his freshman year. However it wasn’t until this year that he has earned a full time role on the defensive core along side 4 other seniors and Sophomore Kooper Carter. His hard work and dedication to the program has helped him earn a spot on the team but it has been his intelligent play on the ice that has helped earn him minutes. Nick’s Strong positional play and ability to pick up the Cats system and made him an integral part of the penalty kill unit that has killed off 89% of opponents power-plays while scoring 7 shorthanded goals. He has also chipped in with 3 assist and the Cats have gotten off to a 13-1-3 start and hold a #2 ranking in the state polls.

However, Nicks biggest attributes don’t happen on the ice. Nick is a top student in the classroom where he has earned an impressive 3.815 accumulated GPA and is awaiting word on a possible acceptance to West Point Academy. Recently Nick had to miss a game, not because of suspension, poor play or even and injury, but because he was being recognized at a dinner by congresswoman Marcy Kaptur.

Congratulations Nick on your persistant career on the ice and your outstanding years off of it. Good Luck on the rest of your senior season and good luck Wildcats!!
