Cats use young lineup versus Upper Arlington

by Coach Elliott on November 18, 2010

The Wildcats got their first scrimmage under their belts this past Saturday at Tam-o-Shanter versus Upper Arlington. They also played with a youth movement lineup. After spending the fall season on their pre/post teams veterans Nolan Culver, Dalton Carter, Ryan LaPlante, Zach Felser, Drew Korn, Kyler Omey, Graham Kelsey and goalie Austin Gryca were all given the week off to rest up for the upcoming season.

The Coaching staff instead got to look at new upcoming talent such as Defenceman Kooper Carter, Troy Geer, Tyler Dewitt and Nick Foti along with Forwards Nick Laplante, Cody Estrel, Xavier Sudlow, Aaron Whitaker, Ben Suchomma, Drew Crandall, Jacob Koback and Christian Simon. It looked like a blast from the 80’s as Carter, Suchomma and Crandall all had father’s that played for the Cats.

As for the Game the young Cats represented themselves very well. Veteran forward Aaron Booth helped get the Cats going with his 1st period goal before Tyler Dewitt found the net from the point for a 2-0 lead.Fellow Sophomore Drew Crandall scored a pair of goals in the 3rd for as the Cats pulled away with the 4 to 1 win. Phil Bowles allowed just a singe goal for the Cats in goal.

The Cats take on state power University School this Friday night at 7 @ Tam-o-Shanter. Scrimage games are free to the public so come out and see the 2010-11 cats in action.
