Cats struggle in final tuneup games

by Coach Elliott on November 22, 2010

The Wildcats struggled to find their rythym in the final tuneup weekend before kicking off the regular season next Friday in the Cold Turkey Thanksgiving Tounament.

On Friday night the Cats hosted  University School. Ryan LaPlante scored in the middle of the 1st period to tie the Game at 1, but the Preppers dominated this game from the onset. Zach Felser scored on a power play when the game was already in hand as University School controled all phases of the game in the lopsided 7 to 2 loss.

On Saturday morning the Cats rebounded with a solid effort versus Cleveland Walsh Jesuit. Unfortunately the Cats effort was not rewarded on the scoreboard. After controlling much of the territorial play for the 45 minutes the Wildcats had to settle for a 0-0 tie. Austin Gryca split time with Phil Bowles and rebounded from a subpar performance on Friday night with several key saves.

The Cats kickoff regular season play this weekend as they host their annual Cold Turkey Thanksgiving Tournament at Tam-o-Shanter. On Friday Northview will have 2 games at 11:30 A.M. versus Lake Catholic and at 8:30 versus St. Thomas. On Saturday the Cats take on perennial state power St. Edwards at 8 P.M. Consolation and Championship games will be on Sunday. Please come out and support your Cats!
