The Wildcats put together their best back to back games since late November this past weekend to earn 2 victories in conference play.
On Friday night the Cats squared off against St. Francis. Matt Duvall got the Cats going with his 1st period goal. Jordan Keefe and Josh Krispin were rewarded for their hardwork with assist on the goal. The game stayed that way until early in the 3rd period when Kyle Hymore took a stretch pass from Jordan Jones and connected on a break-away for a 2-0 lead. That was all that Freshmen Austin Gryca and the team defense would need. Austin needed to stop just 10 shots in the shutout win. From the defense to the forwards blocked shots were the story of the game for the Cats.

On Saturday night the Cats had a rematch with Findlay. After losing earlier this season down in Findlay the Cats were out for a better performance. Tyler Harding staked the Cats to a 1-0 lead after 1 period of play. Northview would strike for 2 goals in just a 35 second span of the 2nd period to grab a 3-0 lead. First Freshman Brent Easton scored on the power play for his first career goal, then Nile Culver scored off a pretty pass from his brother Nolan. Findlay would close to within 3-1 after 2 periods. Kyle Hymore would finish off the Trojans with 2 goals in the 3rd period and the final score of 5-1. Gryca stood tall once again in the win stopping 20 of 21 shots.

The 2 wins catapulted the Cats from last place to a 2nd place tie in the NHC. They will have a conference rematch with St. Francis this Friday at 7 at Tam-o-Shanter.
