Big times in Big D

The Northview Hockey team has enjoyed the ride so far this season, that is until they had to sit on a bus for a 22 hour ride to Dallas.
However, the Cats did keep their momentum going once the games started. In the first game Northview took on Alliance, Tx. 3 second period goals by Bob Napierala, Brandon Snead and Tyler Puhl staked the Cats to a 3-0 lead. Alliance came out with 3 of their own to tie it in the third. Eamonn Reynolds kept the winning streak going with a goal in the last minute for the 4-3 win.The next morning the Cats took on Minn. Spring Lake Park. Sloppy defensive play had the Cats trailing 5-4 with 3 minutes left. Kyle Hymore scored his first goal of the season to tie it, and Brandon Snead hit the game winner just over a minute later as the Cats walked away with the 6-5 win. Carter Bourland scored a pair of goals and Mark Hall also got into the act with a goal. With the win Craig Trego moved past Bob McElheney into 2nd place on the all-time wins list. The next evening the Cats took on host Jesuit College Prep. A better defensive effort and solid goaltending from Trego gave Northview the 3-2 win. 2 Goals by Tyler Puhl and the 2nd goal in 2 days for Hymore provided the offense. The next morning Northview took on the Allen Eagles from Dallas. The winner would claim the tournament Championship. 2 quick goals by Snead and Nile Culver gave the Cats the early lead. Allen responded with 2 of their own to tie it after 1. 3 unanswered goals by Napierala, Snead and Hall would seal it for the Cats 5-2. After the 3 wins the Cats improved to 16-0 on the season, the best start in team history.
