The Wildcats Defeated rival St. Johns this past Saturday night by a final score of 4-2 to claim 2nd place in the NHC red division. This marks a run of 6 years in which the Cats have finished in either first or second place.
The Cats opened the scoring with a goal by Dalton Carter. He was able to lift a pass from Aaron Booth in to the top corner for a 1-0 lead. The lead didn’t last long as the Titans scored on the power play to knot the score at 1 after 1 period of play.
The Cats scored the only 2 goals of the 2nd period to open a 3-1 lead. First Tyler Harding stole the puck from a Johnie Defenseman and converted for a 2-1 lead, then Zach Felser scored on the power play for the eventual game winner.
Nolan Culver scored early in the 3rd on the power play for a 4-1 lead before St. Johns finished off the scoring for the final 4-2. The win was the 6th in a row for the Cats and pushed their overall record to 16-8-3 and a 8-2 finish in the league.
