5:00pm Meadville at TOS

by Coach Elliott on December 9, 2005

Northview improved its record to 7-0 on Friday as they beat Pennsylvania Power house Meadville 4-3. Meadville came out early and held the play in the Northview end for the early stages of the game. Once again it was Alden Hirschfeld who came through with a strong play to give the Cats a 1-0 lead and more importantly shift some of the momentum.
The Cats started strong in the second period to jump out to a 3-0 lead on goals by Tim Hurst and Matt Cook. On Hurst goal Tyler Puhl made an excellent play to not only hold the line but find Erik Lavoy on the backdoor who in turn was able to find Hurst for the goal mouth tap in goal. Cooks goal came on a 2-1 with a nice pass from Brandon Snead. Meadville was not going to go without a fight however as they responded with 2 goals of their own to pull within 3-2. Near the end of the period Snead took a nice feed from Adam Thanasiu to push the lead to 4-2 after 2 periods of play.
In the 3rd period the Cats played a strong defensive game before allowing the Bulldogs to get behind the Defense for a goal and the final score 4-3.
