So Far, “Parr For The Course”

by Coach Elliott on January 3, 2008

This year Evan Parr has been given a crash course on playing defense at the Varsity level. The players are bigger, faster, stronger and more determined than those he has battled in the past couple of years at the Junior Varsity level.

This year Evan became determined, that he would have an impact on the Varsity team and make his Senior season a memorable one. With the chance to jump in and play right away, Evan has made the most of his opportunities and given the defense valuable minutes. At 6’2” and 185 pounds Evan possesses the body to help bring a physical presence to the blue line. He is also extremely valuable in that he is the only left handed shooting defensemen on the team. His ability to move the puck and a hard shot have earned him some playing time on the second power play unit. So far he has contributed 4 assists for the 7-0 Cats. More importantly he has brought steady consistent play to a defensive unit that needed a boost after the loss of a couple of younger players last summer.

So far “Parr for the Course” would sum up Evans year. He has done everything asked of him and played steady, safe defense. Who knows maybe sometime down the road he may even knock in a birdie or two. Congratulations Evan and have a great Senior season.
